Please note that any of the workshops that we offer may also be scheduled for a private party or group at a different time. A minimum of 5 participants is required with advance payment.

Due to the “Outdoor” nature of our business we keep a close eye on the weather. If the weather conditions include snow, ice, sleet, hurricane, thunderstorm or excess heat with over 100 degree heat indexes, we may choose to limit our normal hours. Please call ahead if we are experiencing extreme weather. Everyone’s safety is our main concern.

April 3 ‘Versatility of Herbs” at Spring township - Kathy will be presenting an herb talk at the Township building at 2 PM. Cost: $7.00

*April 8 thru April 23, Lancaster County’ Best Kept Secret Tour. We are thrilled to be included in the Tour. 36 off-the-beaten path businesses have created a shopping and food adventure just for you. Travel place to place enjoying all the free special events (workshops, refreshments, gifts, drawings, etc.) the stores have planned for you. Visit the businesses at your leisure-do what you can in a day or take 16 days- it’s up to you. It’s such a fun way to explore the county! Tour bags $6.00 each

($1 per bag donated to a local charity).

April 24 Closed Easter Sunday

 

May 6 and 7, Herb and Garden Faire at Landis Valley, Lancaster. 9 to 5. Find us in the Yellow Barn. Regular hours are maintained at the Farm

 

May 8 Happy Mother’s Day, CLOSED

 

*May 14 and 15, OPEN HOUSE at Deer Creek Farm.

 

* May 22- Herb Garden in a Pot Workshop2 PM -Choose your 4 favorite herbs and plant them in a pot to have close at hand for the summer. No need to dig up the entire yard to grow delicious herbs. We provide the herbs, the soil, fertilizer and pot, even the place to make the mess. Just add water. Cost: $14.00

 

*June 12 – 2 PM- Juicing and Smoothies Workshop- Learn about the difference, sample taste both kinds and find out how these can both improve your health. Cost: $4.00

 

June 19 Happy Father’s Day CLOSED

 

*June 26 – Herbs for Pets Workshop2 PM – Learn some herbal ways to keep pests off your pets. Receive an herb potted plant, an essential oil and the directions to make some repellants at home. Cost: $11.00

 

*July 2 and 3- Closed for the 4th of July Weekend

 

July 6 thru October 2, SUMMER HOURS: Thurs thru Sat 10 to 5

 

* July 23- Herbal Vinegar Workshop- - 2 PM - Create 3 beautiful and delicious herbal vinegars with fresh herbs from our garden. Complete them with bees wax seals. These make great gifts! Cost: $15.00

 

* August 27- Dried Flower and Herb Wreath Workshop –– 2 PM - Using a dried wreath base that we make for you in advance, create your very own wreath choosing from an assortment of dried herbs and flowers. Add these to the base to create a wreath that is perfect for that special location in your home. Cost: $33.00

 

* September 21 - Hats for the Homeless Workshop –- 7 to 9 PM. We will be crocheting a simple hat to donate to the homeless Veterans in the Reading area. Bring an “H” crochet hook and some 4 ply worsted weight yarn OR use some that we have available. If you have always wanted to learn to crochet, we will teach you. Our pattern only requires a chain, a slip stitch and a double crochet. No Charge.

 

* October 1 -Herb Tea Tasting Workshop2 PM -Sample taste many dried herbs brewed into teas. Learn about their beneficial qualities then create your own personalized blend to take home. Cost: $6.00

 

Oct 5 thru Nov.23 - Autumn Hours:- Wed thru Sat 10 to 5, Sunday 12 to 4

 

November 6 – Potpourri Workshop2 PM – Learn to make 2 different potpourris for the coming cold weather. One, a simmering and one, to fill your own lovely jar for beauty and fragrance. It just makes scents!! Cost: $13.00

 

Nov. 24 – Closed – Happy Thanksgiving

Nov 25 thru Dec. 18 – Holiday Hours: Daily 10 to 5, Sunday 12 to 4

 

November 26 and 27 – *Christmas Open House Weekend  -Join us to help prepare for the Holiday season ahead. Choose from fresh evergreen wreaths, swags and centerpieces made “at the Farm” for your home or send one to a friend. We ship live Wreaths!! Find that perfect gift for someone special. Enjoy herbal refreshments.

 

* December- Dates to be announced- Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting Deer Creek Farm. Stop by to meet them. Have a professional quality photo taken with them. $4.00 each. Enjoy some holiday refreshments. Ho-Ho-Ho

 

* Dec. 11 – 2 PM - Hearth Basket Workshop - Create a gorgeous basket arrangement using fresh greens, cones, and berries. This is beautiful outdoors by the front door or indoors on a table, stairway or hearth. Bring a pair of clippers. Cost: $30.00. We offered this last year and every basket was stunning!!!

 

Dec. 18 - 2 PM - Williamsburg Centerpiece Workshop   Create your own holiday centerpiece. We provide a wide assortment of fresh greens, fresh citrus fruit, cones, holly, and pods. There are even magnolia leaves to give it that special “Williamsburg” look. Bring a pair of clippers. Cost: $25.00

 

December 19 thru March 22, 2012- Open by Appointment during the season of winter.
